Prof. Kanie, Programme Director of the SDSN Japan, was fully committed to organizing “Japan SDGs Action Festival” as the Chairperson of the Japan SDGs Action Promotion Council, which is a nation-wide network of multi-stakeholders and hosted this Festival in March 2021.

The Action Festival discussed sustainability issues such as local SDGs action, youth and biodiversity with speakers in various fields in an action-oriented manner. Mr. Cosmo Takagi, a Project Research Associate of Keio University, also SDSN Japan’s Network Manager, delivered his keynote lecture for a special session on youth.

Under the “UN SDG Action Campaign” led by the UNDP, “SDGs Global Festival of Action from Japan” was also organized back-to-back with the above Action Festival.
