On 22 December 2016, SDSN Japan co-organized a joint press conference at the Japan National Press Club with Japan Civil Society Network on SDGs and other stakeholders. This event is in response to the adoption of the “SDGs Implementation Guiding Principles” at the second SDGs Promotion Headquarters meeting held on the same day.

The principles represent Japan’s national strategy to address the major challenges for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, including Japan’s vision and eight priority areas. At the conference, Kanie Norichika, SDSN Japan Programme Director, expressed his view on the principles and emphasized an importance of multi-stakeholder actions beyond government agencies toward achieving the SDGs.
